In rivers and streams in Labrador, we filmed wild Atlantic salmon and their cousins, the Sea-run Arctic char, bright and silvery, just in from the sea.
This was the first place where we saw large numbers of char swimming with Atlantic salmon - a sign of the health of these remote waters. To find and film them, we looked for smaller streams with clear water, and the only way to access these locations was by helicopter.
The bigger salmon rivers, accessible by float plane or boat, had waters stained brown with tannins, making it tougher to get a good image.
